Site cleanup and updates
I've just finished a long 3 day haul of going through every post I've ever made on this blog and fixing everything from errors in my English, to updating existing guides, and elaborating sections in my coding tutorials. So, if you've ever wanted to go back and reread an existing post, there is no better time then to do so right now.

IRC Channel
By popular request, I've set up an IRC channel for the readers of this blog.
It's #arikadosblog on EFNET
I have tutorials for how to connect to the IRC in the "computers" section of my blog for anyone who needs them. Hope to see you there. I'm in there 24/7
Edit: Just because I'm in there 24/7 doesn't mean I'm at my computer 24/7. If I don't respond immediately, give me a little time to realize my client is blinking...

Links to this post
I got a new section built into posts called "links to this post". Basically, click on any post and at the bottom of the page you'll see a section where you can create links to other web pages that link to the blog post.
If you see any web pages online linking to one of my posts, then please make a "Links to this post" link.
Doing so not only helps me to be aware of the popularity of my posts, but it also helps other web sites to get a little free advertising.
Thanks :-)

Where this blog is going
So yeah, I've been neglecting the blog a bit lately. I pretty much all but ignored the Wii's 4.2 update and haven't given a thorough status report on how fixing Dop-IOS MOD is coming along (both of these exist elsewhere on the internet though)
Anyways, the main reason for blog neglect (like all other blogs) is a lack of time on my part. I have limited computer time and would rather spend it making something than writing about something. Releasing something is also hassling enough without having to note the release on the blog as well. Really, this neglect could I guess be considered laziness on my part as well as (but not as much as) my lack of time.
Anyways, I'm pleased to make some announcements regarding this blog and new content which will be appearing shortly:

Anyways, I'm pleased to make some announcements regarding this blog and new content which will be appearing shortly:
Computers
Computers will be a new section of the blog (along with coding and Wii/PSP homebrew, etc.) focused on, well, computers. The reasoning behind this is that I'm getting my first very own computer in about 8 or 9 days and I intend to write about what I do with it and why. Of course, there will also be informational posts about how computers work and such. Since everything on this blog revolves around computers in some way, this new section seems appropriate.
Detailed posts about low level Wii coding
Working on Dop-IOS MOD (especially v7) has taught me a LOT about the Wii's inner working's that I didn't know before. Most importantly, it taught me how to interact with all of these different things as a programmer. I'll be compiling all of the knowledge I gaiend into a few very detailed posts and sharing it with everyone.
Game Programming
My main passion in life is game programming. Game programming is vastly different than any other kind of programming task. Irregardless of what platform its done on, all game programming encapsulates the same fundamental ideas. I'll be using some of my existing games to demonstrate these fundamanetal concepts and hopefully turn us all into better game programmers.
Enjoy the ride guys! And feel free to send me your ideas.

Site News
The forums to this site have just been relaunched. The purpose of the relaunch was to shorten the size of the forums while providing more places for people to talk about redundant topics cluttering up the Offtopic section. The relauch has succeeded in both of those remarks.
If you have yet to check out the forum, you owe it to yourself to do so by clicking here.
The next piece of news is a somewhat exciting one: This site has received so many hits that the hit counters in the bottom right corner of the page have broken. I'm currently looking for new hit counters now...
The last bit of news: A new version of Dop-IOS MOD is ready to be releasd as soon as PhoenixTank approves it. You can find the unofficially released binary and source here. More information will be available upon the official release.

Everything About the Shoutbox
The purpose of this post is completely explain (in great detail) how the Shoutbox on the right side of the page underneath the "Get Help Directly From Arikado" gadget works:
How to use the Shoutbox
Using the Shoutbox is simple. Enter a name in the box that says "Name" and enter what you want to say in the box that says "Message". Then click send or press ENTER on your keyboard and your message will appear in the shoutbox immediately.
To register your chosen nickname so no one else can use it, press the "+" button and then enter in the nickname you would like to register and a password for it. You can then use the "+" button to log in under your registered nickname.
The Shoutbox is a dynamic element meaning that you do not have to refresh the page you are on to see your posted message appear or to see messages posted by other users.
To enlarge the Shoutbox, you can click on the white underlined text at the top of it that says "Shoutbox".

The Shoutbox User Permission Power Levels
Admins are people with the power to delete messages left by users and IP Ban users with the single click of the mouse. They can also grant or take away moderation and/or administrative privileges. They are the top level people who can use the Shoutbox. Moderators can only become Admins if the owner of the Shoutbox appoints them to be an Admin.
Moderators can delete comments left by users and view the IP addresses of everyone using the Shoutbox. They can forward IP addresses to Admins so Admins can ban users if the Admins see fit. Users can only become Moderators if an Admin appoints them to be a Moderator.
Users are people with registered nicknames who can leave messages in the Shoutbox. You can become a User simply by registering a nickname.
Guests are users with unregistered nicknames who can leave messages in the Shoutbox and are infamously subjected to being treated poorly by other Users until they register their nicknames and become Users. Everyone is a guest by default until they register a nickname.

The Shoutbox
If you'll look to the right of the page, I've added a new feature to the site underneath the "Get Help Directly from Arikado" gadget. It's a shoutbox from freeshoutbox.net It's basically like a real time guest book (called a mini chat room by some).
You can register an account and leave a message, or you can leave a message anonymously as a guest under an unregistered nickname. To register an account with my shoutbox, click the + button and register a nickname and password. Registering with the shoutbox prevents other users from using or registering your nickname.
Overall, it's a great addition to my site. If you have any questions about homebrew/hacking, leave a message and I will eventually get back to you in the shoutbox. This is also makes the shoutbox an opportunity for readers to help readers. And of course, feel free to just stop in and say "Hi" to let everyone know you exist. Maybe we can eventually get some good coding/hacking discussions going.
There aren't really any "rules" except no spamming. Which reminds me; I can ban anyone permanently and/or delete their messages with a single click of my mouse. I can also appoint other moderators and administrators, so if you'd like to help out monitoring the shoutbox, let me know.
One last note, if you'd like to view the shoutbox in a larger area, click the white underlined lettering "Shoutbox" on the top of the shoutbox.
That's about it. Happy messaging/chatting/shoutboxing/whateveryouwanttocallit.

Its finally over!!!
I just finished my last exam and now I'm finally out of school for the summer.
This means I can get back to 6+ hour coding workdays. In other words, we'll actually see some new releases and news come from me (soon).
I'm going to take the rest of the day off, but bright and early tomorrow morning I'm heading to PNP and getting to work.
Also, this blog will begin to be updated far more frequently now.
Look forward to new developments.

Mediafire issues - ignore
Mediafires server is temporarily offline. They appear to be doing maintenance. Please ignore the large warning "server offline" images on the side and bottom of this page. I'm going to look into an alternate image hoster.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Update They appear to be resolved now. However, I'm still looking into finding an alternate website for image hosting. Leave a comment if you have any suggestions.

Blog no longer updated daily for a bit
So yeah, obviously this isn't working out. I'm bogged down with exams for the next two weeks, and I think it's more important for me to work on my Wii projects and psp uploading in my free time as well as answering your e-mails than post stuff every day. I think you can agree.
I'll return to posting stuff every day in a few weeks when this time constraining period of my life is over. In the meantime, I'll only post if there is actually something interesting going on. And with a little luck, there will be this Friday ;) and this coming Monday :O

They offer unrivaled reporting on the latest hacks and homebrew and emulation for all computer and video game systems.

Yes, anyone can comment on my blog
I'm pretty surprised that I just received an email asking me about my BootMii post. The sender said he would've asked his question in the form of a comment, but he didn't have a google account so he couldn't. So, I'm going to tell everyone, just in case you haven't realized, anyone can comment on my blog.
