New tehskeen opens this Friday

N0tBrakk3n has told me he's decided to open the new tehskeen to the public this friday. We're doing something exciting that no other homebrew news site does. We'll also have the site full with the latest big stories of the last couple weeks when it opens. The time until Friday will be spent primarily making the new site look pretty. We have a new name for it that's a little bit of a play on the old name. We're going to be reporting on news for consoles that tehskeen never reported on (think Apple). The site is going to look and feel reminiscent of tehskeen but will mostly be it's own beast. It will not be perfect when it opens but N0tBrakk3n will listen to users and make it perfect according to them. There will be no ads on the site when it opens. Even if there are ads down the line it will never be as bad as it was on tehskeen (current homebrew news sites are much worse than tehskeen ever was).

Yes, this is a kinda ugly post but Im just getting the details out. This will be awesome. Trust me.

Update: Anyone who wants to view the site early, read the comments on this post.

  1. Thank you for the pointless redundancy. Another Wii site, oh boy.

  2. No, it's not "another Wii site" ... Wii/GC is only about 10% of what's covered ...

  3. Doesn't pdroms.de already cover all available homebrew for almost every console/hardware under the sun? Or is it going to be more than just homebrew? Seems kind of pointless otherwise.

  4. Here are the titles of two stories N0tBrakk3n and I have already posted which will be available to view on the site on Friday: "Pandora about to enter mass production", "Battery Powered Digital Converter Box". Hopefully this shows how we plan to offer a diverse range of content along with coverage Wii homebrew, PSP homebrew, DS/DSi homebrew, Apple hax, and much more of course. We're also doing something very exciting to involve the entire community that I swear up and down no other homebrew news site does.

  5. Also, like tehskeen originally did, we're not reporting on every single PONG game made like every other site does, just the interesting homebrew you care about and WANT to see. We have a spot on the site where people can submit news and suggestions so we'll be sure to have only what the people actually want.

  6. sounds interesting. Just have to make sure there is a much.. much greater emphasis on non-homebrew releated things (ie digital converter box/interesting new tech), as even the more interesting homebrew will be posted on all the other wii sites fairly quickly, if not instantly.

  7. Well, like I said, Wii stuff will be in the minority of what's posted. Hopefully what Wii stuff IS posted, since I spend a lot of my spare time talking to Wii devs, will be broken on newskeen before other sites. It will be a fun site to watch and certainly contain as many non-videogame hacks as possible (battery powered digital converter box for example).

  8. Just remember, If it wasn't for what happened to tehskeen.com I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing. So please keep that in mind....

Here we are with tehskeen.info that will re-direct to the new tehskeen come friday. I'm excited to do some live homebrew demo's via ustream and hope to have the dev(s) of the homebrew in an irc type of chat while the demo is happening to answer questions from the viewers.
This site will have next to no Drama, no pissing contests (aka this sites better than that site), respect will happen from noob-3l373, etc. We will be ~the 1st~ site to offer live homebrew demo's via ustream. Time is yet TBD but will be this friday EST. I will keep yall posted ;-)

  9. There's an easter egg on this site and on http://tehskeen.info showing where our new website is located. It isn't finished yet, but it's close enough. Those of you who can find it, feel free to make an account and enjoy the site :)
Everyone else who can't find it will have to wait until tehskeen.info becomes a redirect to the new site this friday ...
