Dop-IOS MOD is a modification of Dop-IOS that lets you choose what IOS you want to use to install other IOSs. Unlike Dop-IOS, this means that you do not have to have an (illegal) cIOS used for only piracy installed. Since then, Dop-IOS MOD has suroassed Dop-IOS in a number of ways with efficent rewrites of core Dop-IOS functions and the addition of Gamecube controller support (ie: Semi-brick recovery)
Now, Dop-IOS MOD has working support to download/update channels and the system menu. I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who tested for me so I could make this release work (unlike the last release lol).
In v8, I've fixed everything that was broken in v7, added the ability to download 1.0 or 1.1 of the photo channel, and added a sanity check.

Hi, Arikado. I think I have found a bug in this new release: when I install a newer version of an IOS, the version number remains the same as the one I had installed before, but it is of course updated. If you exit to the HBC and restart the app, it'll show the correct version number (the newer one). I noticed this when updated the IOS 37 and 53. Hope that helps you to improve the app, which is great, :D.
ReplyDeleteBTW, will you implement the SD writing code?
ReplyDeleteThinks for the heads up, I'll look into that bug immediately.
ReplyDeleteSD Writing code?
Oh, thanks. And by "SD writing code", I meant the ability of copying the downloaded content to the SD card, such as the IOSes *.app files, so the next time you need to reinstall an IOS, it'll load the contents directly from the card.
ReplyDelete... It is only a suggestion. Don't do that if you don't want to, :).
ReplyDeleteI can probably do it if you can provide the source code to an app which does this.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I think Hermes' IOS 202 Installer has this feature... I'll search a little.
ReplyDeleteOK, I got it: http://mods.elotrolado.net/~hermes/wii/cios_mload_source_install_3.1.rar. That's the official download link to the Hermes cIOS Installer source code. I don't really know a thing about the files on the source folder, but I hope you will (I'm just a 14 years-old kid, LOL).
ReplyDeleteHello Arikado,
ReplyDeleteI have a strange behavior with latest version of DOP-IOS MOD V8.
I have a Wii 4.2E. I hacked it with HackMii 0.6.
I tried to patch IOS 36, 53, 55 and 70 to add Trucha and ES_Identify to their latest version.
It worked for IOS 36 but not for 53, 55 and 70. After patching them, I restarted the Wii then checked using SignCheck hpmebrew (I don't known another one).
I tried patching using IOS 249 (installed with cIOS 38 rev 14) and IOS 36 v1042 (using cBoot2).
Do you have any suggestion ?
The patch only works for the IOS36, I think. The other ones present problems after patching. Also, there's another homebrew app that checks the properties of the IOSes encountered on your console: sysCheck. Search for it, :).
ReplyDeleteDo you mean that now I tried patching them, I may encounter problems with them later playing games using them ?
ReplyDeleteIsn't signcheck not accurate 100% of the time?
ReplyDelete@BenGee: maybe. Also, you may encounter problems with homebrew apps... I really wanted to say "buggy".
ReplyDelete@Arikado: nope, it isn't, at least for me, D:...
